This is a reply to # 1,736,570You are correct B&G, all people should be accountable here, including the moderators. There are certain moderators here that hide behind anonymous user numbers, and censor the posts of those they do not personally like. When questioned, the posts are deleted, and the poster banned. This is wrong, and it leaves the banned poster no recourse. The WM is busy, and does not reply to emails many times, and appears to support the moderator, regardless of what the moderator does, so this recourse is cut off.
The moderator has already banned the person and deleted the posts, so that avenue of recourse is cut off. The moderator of the Debate Forums has stated she will not reply to personal emails, and that a case must be made, to her, on the public forums. So this effectively prevents people whom she has banned, from any recourse at all except to post their concerns on a forum she does not moderate, and hope the WM responds in a fair and ethical manner.
Its no wonder so many long time members are leaving.
There is a big difference between moderation and censorship. The Debate Forums needed cleaning up, but that is not what has happened. The posters making the bulk of the personal attacks, are still there, doing exactly that. As the moderator favours these posters, they attack with impunity. This is not cleaning up the boards, this is making the boards a free for all, for the favourites of the moderator.
The WM has effectively said that people cannot defend themselves against personal attack, or they become as bad as the attacker. This simply gives those that are able to attack with impunity, (those favoured by the moderator) a free ride, and this is very obvious on the Debate Forums .
If this is not addressed, I can see there will be a lot more decent people leaving CZ. This website will become the home of those could care less about healing, and are simply here to cause trouble. Particularly the ones that have been banned from the site, numerous times, and come back under new user names, to continue the trouble making. Until this is also addressed, then the problems will continue, and the good people will leave.

You are 100% correct!!! And again the problem is not limited to the debate forums. Moderators are abusing their position on the support forums as well.

Well something needs to change. And I don't want to infer that they are bad people or dishonest. None of them are trolls, regardless of the rhetoric. But I do think there needs to be some serious and legitimate moderating there. And I do think the slates need to be wiped clean and for the Webmaster to give some clear and unequivical direction on what will be accepted on the debate boards and what will cause a ban. We can't have haphazard moderating here. And Spud and Peggy shouldn't be banned. But. If I was the moderator there, well I personally would be hiding a massive amount of posts.The debate boards have become out of control. And it is very easy for legitimate posters to get carried away there. I know. I spent several years on there, and I will admit that I broke the TOS more then a couple of times. It gets emotional over there.
The problem is not limited to the debate boards, which is what Spud was also trying to point out. The same problem is on the other forums. We have moderators doing what they wish, which includes deleting posts that ARE NOT in violation of TOS, allowing TOS violations to remain if it fits their needs and repeatedly violating TOS themselves instead of doing the job they are supposed to do.
I did come on here last year to make the case for Tony Isaacs to be instated as a Global Moderator. I still do think that it is a great solution to a lot of these problems. Curezone is a big site, so it needs multiple moderators, but he has paid his dues here and has moderating experience on other sites, including serious ones where people are suffering from stage 4 cancer. Hopefully the Webmaster will reconsider this request. I can't think of anyone else I would rather have here making those tough decisions. He is a pro at it.I strongly disagree with this. Tony is the best example on CZ of the complaints I pointed out above. In fact I have seriously considered leaving CZ altogether because of Tony's severe abuse as a moderator and the webmaster's refusal to do anything about it other than to delete the complaints and evidence I posted on my own forum.

Since we know that editing has been disabled on this forum I would like to know how you edited your post? I saw it when it first went up with a new username and within the body of the post you signed it with your other user name.
The next time I refreshed the page you had changed to an anon number, I understand you're testing the privacy settings but how were you able to edit your post to remove your old username out of the body of the post when editing posts has been disabled in this forum?

I don't think what Mo said added anything useful here, in fact it just fanned the flames, but was it a violation of the TOS? I guess that is up for interpretation. You saying,

Yes, you are right. I should have worded that differently and not been so harsh. That was uncalled for. I just get frustrated about how certain people here on CZ try to dictate to others what they can and cannot say when people are merely trying to express their views and concerns. This has happened so many times to me here on CZ so I know what it is like, and I think these people are being very unfair to Spud. Spud, I and others here want to see some change for the better, and the only way there is going to be change is to point out the issues. The WM cannot read every post so the WM cannot be expected to know the issues going on unless presented. Spud has been doing a great job of this. People fighting her remind me of the people who sit there allowing their rights to be taken away by their government then decide to start bitching after their rights are already gone. Spud is being proactive by taking a stand against these injustices before they get any further out of hand and the only people left on CZ are those who are so unhappy in their lives that all they do is hang around CZ looking for things to complain about or fight about. Is this really what CZ should be about?
As a final note I pointed out earlier that CZ has rules. These rules are here for a reason. And if enforced properly they can make CZ a better place for everyone rather than just for the power abusing moderators selectively enforcing the rules to show how they can flex their power muscles.
That is against TOS
You can not ask a question:
"who is hiding behind this number?"
inside a public forum.
You can not ask a question:
"why is this person hiding behind this number?"
You can not link numbers to usernames on public forums, you are breaching privacy.
People have right to protect their privacy, and nobody on CureZone is allowed to ask a question in public:
"Who is the person behind number #55555 ?"
Even if that number is one of the 2 special numbers assigned to "Fake Usernames"
If you have any similar questions, ask me or other moderators by sending a PM, do not bring such questions to public forums, it is against TOS to answer those questions.

I have emailed you several times about the problems on the debate boards, concerning certain posters, and you have ignored those emails. This led me to believe that you would not answer private emails, so I did not bother.
The moderator concerned, has publicly said that she will not answer private emails, and that if we have a concern we must post it publicly on the forum, (so she can then delete our concerns). We have been told that if we disagree with a moderating decision, we must put our concerns out in public, and make a case for ourselves, that she will consider or not. This is a bit hard to do when you are banned from posting, and your posts get deleted.
This is why I posted the concern about user numbers with no posting history, on the forum, and then on your forum. I realised that it may be sensitive to post someones user number and name, so I modified my question, after they kept getting deleted, to simply asking why the user numbers concerned had no posting history.
This could have easily been answered, instead of being constantly deleted. Just as Wombat explained it was people using the privacy manager function. The moderator could have easily explained this, instead of simply deleting my posts.
There is censorship going on on these forums, not moderating. This is my concern, and the concern of many others. This issue is not being addressed, and people are leaving because of this.

This is a reply to # 1,736,454Please read the post at the top of this thread. This post is about letting a poster know, that it is the moderator that is deleting all his posts, (even though they did not breach TOS), not another poster, as he believed.
This was not a question by me, and certainly not a personal one. It did not involve anyone's user numbers or names being questioned, I was simply answering the question of another poster.
There were others that tried to explain to this poster what was happening to his posts, and who was deleting them. These people were not banned, and their posts remained, for a little while, and then were deleted also.
This is censorship, not moderation.

One more question, Webmaster, I would like to know how I can contact a moderator, with any concerns, or questions, when I do not know who the moderator is. If the moderator has no real user name, and only uses the fake user names or numbers, available with the privacy manager function. How do I contact the moderator, to ask my questions, or express my concerns?
Also, do I respect the wishes of the dbmoderator, and not contact her privately, as she has said she will not deal with any issues by private email? If I respect her wishes, then the only way to ask a question, or express a concern, is to put it on the public forum, which you have said is not allowed.
I really would like some clear answers to these questions please.
