hi MH,
thanks for your last response on the dentists.
had another quick question about fissure caps.
not sure you have the same thing in the states,
but over here in europe sometimes kids get whats called
fissure caps put on their teeth.
if you dont know this term - basically it is a plastic
coating on top of the tooth, usually after the baby ones
fall out, but i know of adults who have them aswell.
apparently it is to protect the "new" tooth,
and generally they do last many years doing this.
but i wanted to check.
is this actually just as bad as having plastic fillings??
ok, it's not amalgam, but surely when one is chewing
with these on they are rubbing plastic onto food/drink
which they consume??
i only ask as my daughter was recommended by my dentist
to get them and i am not sure if they are ok or not.
have tried to find info on it but not had much luck.
any opinions would be appreciated,

Dentist will come up with anything to make a $$$ from. Teeth are real LIVE CELLS.............they have enough electric within them, anyone can easily measure it; I even could and I am a non electric/non electronic educated person.
Once damaged, people have the options provided by dentist to repair or extend the life of the tooth. Naturaly all metals are not an option. Naturaly every method is going to provide a hiding spot for harmful bacteria, etc.
The best thing you can do is seek a dentist that will be somewhat honest with you and explain the options and how toxic each option is to your health.
I have posted Dr. John Johnson's website on this formum several times. On that website he has a contact number or methods of contacting his office and I am sure they will answer any professional questions, such as this one. Or the dentist that suggested this to you, is the REAL dentist to ask.
THE KEY is prevention, once we fail at that, the predators are out there.
