and dont have hundreds of dollars for the mission?
I am in the process of buying my 4th Celestron digital
scope..[have purchased (1) 44302 and (2) 44306's
in addition to the bench scope..[and even the big scope
only set me back $300 or so]
I find the 44306 to be an amazing machine...90 percent of
the time I am using the tiny Celestron for viewing 'stuff'..only breaking out the bench scope for high
mag shots. I notice that the price has fallen to $69.00
dollars..dropped ten bux since the last one I bought in
June. Why third scope? It's not that they are overly fragile..
but life in "Muppet's Morg Lab" is rather brutal...constant
use. And the imager is detachable..and finds itself on the
bench scope most of the time.
There is a 44302 avail for a few less dollars..but it is
has a far less capable imager [1.2 Mpixels; vs the 2 Mpixels of the
"306".] And the 306 is usable without a computer if you
wish..self powered lighting..the 302 is USB powered light..
and CANNOT BE TURNED OFF...[a significant problem for
some types of viewing].
On the other hand..the 306 does eat AAA lighting batteries
at a fairly brisk rate..but..the light is fully controllable..variable brightness or OFF if not needed.
..quick linky to check out the scope at amazon..
[...take the negative reviews with a large grain of salt..
how anyone can have trouble focusing these things is a mystery to me...[unless the reviewer is a ham fisted chimp]
....cant do a direct url link..amazon insists on
overlaying my personal info on the product description
page.."dear bob jones..you purchased this on June 87th.."
