I just read this, and wonder what your thoughts are on it. I have never heard of this before and not sure how it would work. The only antiseptics would be in the yellow layer of the leaf , which is where the anthraquinones are. The gel is primarily polysaccharides. One thing I do recall about emergency water purification is adding ground up horseradish root to the water and letting it sit overnight. The researchers started with raw sewage and added the ground horseradish root to the sewage. The oil in the root killed all the pathogens and the horseradish root also precipitated out all the solids leaving behind purified, drinkable water on top of the precipitated solids. |
