HV, relatively new problem and getting worse. Any time I taste something sour-yogurt that is slightly sour, tomatoes, vinegar etc,I get an outpouring of acid and it seems like it hits me in the middle of esophagus. I can not swallow anything and almost choke. Only thing that helps is sipping water with a table spoon of apple cider vinegar. On a regular basis I am fine. Good appetite and all that. I have been taking TMG and bitters but this reaction to sour taste has me stumped. Please help!
I am a little confused on what you said. When you said the middle of the esophagus, but also that you have trouble swallowing. When you say the middle of the esophagus do you mean near the base of the sternum? Or is the problem near the back of the throat?
HV, it is confusing for me as well. First-almost instantly I get like a burning sensation in the middle of esophagus
Still not clear on what are referring to as the middle of the esophagus. But based on what you say below though it sounds like a hiatal hernia leading to acid reflux.
and then I start getting burps and the burps seem to be coming from the throat area and I can't swallow. Seeping water with apple cider vinegar also becomes very difficult. I have to get up, walk around and the moment this continuing burps subside I take a seep and then things begin to quiet down.
It seems as if the whole area from middle of the esophagus to the throat is involved.(all this happens when I put something sour in my mouth-otherwise every thing is OK)
I really welcome your comments.
Again when you say "middle of the esophagus" do you mean at the bottom the sternum (breast bone)?
