Tapeworms are not a one-piece worm. They are segmented, with each piece capable of becoming a worm, from what I've read. They do shed segments as they grow, but no, they don't have a "skin" as such.
.. when it's NOT a tapeworm. Segments: little rectangular pieces, sometimes people see something that looks like rice..... whole skin... could be ascaris roundworm or other wormy worms. There must be some photos somewhere around here of real tapeworm segments. The head might look like a pine nut or garbanzo bean.I saw a photo once where they had a perfectly round brown circle/dot on them and mine had this exactly
(and it you're lucky, then the head will follow the segments out unless it stays in and keeps growing).
