(this is a repeat of post on enema forum)
Well, the two boys chose to do a very modified liverflush with no ill effects.
They ate a
healthy Diet that day, stopped eating at 2:00, drank lemon water sweetened with stevia, then around 6 had a glass of magnesium citrate (tasted like a sour candy or something to them--only two teaspoons in a LARGE glass) and then at bedtime had a fresh pinapple juice (1/2 cup) and virgin coconut oil (brought to room temperature "shake", (which was no problem drinking). And they went straight to bed and tried to lay still! (I actually ate a teaspoon of the very expensive coconut oil--tastes pretty good!)
The next morning They didn't make any big deal out of it. The cousin (larger)chose to do a 'vitamin c flush' and my son chose a SWF, over quick, and they went on with their day. No big results, no pain, no torture. For Health they read up on the gallbladder and liver, and my son was explaining to me what each of them does. The older is studying anatomy this year, so it made his studies more relevant.
I think they feel pretty much like any guy would--"I did it, no biggie, on to other things. I've met the requirements for trick or treat, now back to working on my costume! " They are pretty "awesome" kids.
My son also lost his fiction reading book for three days, so, as a homeschooler that reads daily, he had the choice of finding "Across Five Aprils" or reading "Sugar; the Sweet Thief of Life". He's read most of it, and is telling ME (who hasn't read it) He is sharing with his sister (older) stuff I didn't know--that white
Sugar stops they enzymes....and that raw
Sugar IS better. I didn't know that. I'd wondered if raw
Sugar was any better than regular, I use stevia, but the family uses both raw, regular and honey. So all around it was a great experience.
He feels empowered, knows where his gallbladder and liver are (I know adults that don't know that!) his cousin understands his mom isn't the only "health nut" around, and I learned stuff too. That's what lifes about.
My son says he will 'block out' what he learned about sugar, and it won't affect his enjoyment of his Halloween candy. However, at least he'll be an 'educated consumer' and if he does start into his typical cold/cough/ thing, he won't just think he 'caught' a bug, and has no responsibility for his health. He may even figure out to keep his candy WAY separate from his meals. I feel more knowledgeable too!
This was a good experience, overall. Feel free to "weigh in" all ;-)
peace and joy to all,
