I obtained the complete research report of the rat Bacteriotherapy study mentioned above, and it seems to me the method they used with the Antibiotics was flawed. They gave the rats Antibiotics on days 1-3, then did the faecal transplant on the 4th day. Did it not occur to them that some Antibiotic residue might remain the day after Antibiotics ? When the PTRC does Bacteriotherapy in Sydney, they stop ABx 2 days before infusion, AND they do a lavage the day before infusion, which would presumably wash out any residual ABx.

So I think their conclusion that ABx are detrimental to successful Bacteriotherapy is unreliable. However that takes nothing away from the success of their bacteriotherapy without ABx. I can confirm that the little rodents did not undergo a lavage, colonic or enema prior to infusion, and the method of infusion was a tube to the stomach.
