THE POWER OF JUICING
A true story..
(I wanted to share her story for her. She has since died. I feel I am qualified to share her 'testimonial' because I not only witnessed her healing, but I made all of her juice.
It was the late 1980's.
She had what is called type 2 diabetes for many years and taking an oral medication.
Her diet was poor and she was deeply grieving the loss of her husband.
She scratched the area around her navel with the zipper from her jeans and thought no more about it. The area got infected and by the time she realized how serious the infection had become, she required immediate surgery to save her life. Often, diabetics don't feel pain the same as non-diabetics and are not as aware of internal infection. The stomach tissue was cut away as it was in a gangrene state. The infection was so severe the doctor said she was hours from death.
Her blood Sugar
readings were through the roof and she was put on injections of insulin medications. The infected stomach tissue had been removed and she was left with an open surgical site. She was told this would take at the least 6-8 weeks to heal and may take longer because of her diabetic condition. Once the area had healed she would require a "closer" surgery. In the mean time she was to keep the area irrigated with sterile water solution and take insulin injections 2-3 times daily.
Her doctors were 'TOLD' she would not be allowed to eat or drink ANYTHING from the hospital. All food and drink would be brought in. They agreed that as long as her condition was improving, this would be allowed.
She was brought the fresh juices 4 times daily. Her condition had improved so well that she was released from the hospital in less than 48 hours. She continued with the juices and an organic diet. She did eat small amounts of chicken, yogurt and some cooked beans during this time. 90% + of her diet was juices, raw organic produce, seeds & nuts. She also had 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries or blackberries each day.
She had a follow-up appointment with her surgeon 1 week after surgery.
He could not believe his eyes! His response was, "I don't know what you are doing. I heard about the jars of strange looking green liquid that came into the hospital. All I can say is DON'T STOP." He also said, he did not know anything about nutrition and its role in healing the body. He was a surgeon... He said her stomach was healthy tissue and ready for her closer surgery! At least a month sooner than he had ever seen even for someone without diabetes. Her blood Sugar
readings were down and stable and she was taking only one small dose of her medication daily.
She had her "closer" surgery and when she went back to have her stitches removed and her healing checked, she was deemed... healthy and healed.. 17 days from the first surgery.
This 'healing' was before those around her knew anything about tinctures or essential oils or VEGAN. Nothing was known about Dr. Schulze
and his work and only a small amount of information of Dr. Christopher's work and herbal formulas had been heard of... This 'healing' showed me the power of juicing! [NOTE: I used my Champion Juicer. Yes, I had my Champion way back then!]
This is a juice recipe used by this diabetic who had surgery. 3 quarts
a day of the vegetable juice combo. Also 1 pint of 1/2 apple and 1/2 grape was drank. You could WATCH the tissue heal and within 3-4 days normal blood Sugar
readings were reached and stayed level.
1/2 of the juice blend was carrots.
The other 1/2 was a combination of: celery, brussel sprouts, bell pepper, cucumber, spinach, sting beans.

In cases of diabetes, the entire elimination of all concentrated starches and sugars of every nature whatsoever, and the drinking of a combination of the juices of carrot, lettuce, string beans, and Brussels sprouts at the rate of about two pints daily, besides one pint daily of carrot and spinach juice, gave results which were satisfactory and beneficial.
String Beans: This juice is of particular benefit to diabetics. Diabetes is a dietary disease resulting from the excessive consumption of concentrated starches and sugars, and is aggravated by the consumption of meat.

Cucumber is probably the best natural diuretic known, secreting and promoting the flow of urine. The high potassium content of the cucumber makes this juice very valuable in helping conditions of high and low blood pressure.

is very high in magnesium and iron content, a combination which is invaluable as a food for the blood cells. The combination of carrot and Celery

By means of the latest super-microscopes, it has been possible to determine that the carrot juice molecule is exactly analogous to that of the blood molecule, a most interesting and revealing fact.

When taken daily it can lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Raw carrot contains beta-carotene, a strong antioxidant that can prevent cancer. Dr. Christopher had many diabetics/hypoglycemics on his IP, and he found that if they 'chewed their juice' before swallowing that their blood sugar levels were not adversely affected at all...because the digestive enzymes in the saliva 'broke down' the sugar to the point that it didn't substantially or harmfully alter blood-sugar levels.
