I can sympathize with you. I am sensitive to anything I take, and yet Doctors never help me and often make me worse.
The best supplements that help me are:
Fish oil alternated with Krill oil
When I take Iodine, I take one half a tablet of Iodoral along with 200- 250 mcg selenium. If those dosages are not precise - for me, then I have cold hands and feet, tiredness and lots of hair falling out. Also, I have to take magnesium if I take Iodine
or else I get muscle cramps.
I also can take a small amount of Iosol 1-2 drops and then I can skip the magnesium and selenium or just eat a brazill nut for the selenium content. For some reason if I take more than that then I need to supplement with selenium also, but it has to be the dosage of 200-250 mcg of selenium to about 6 mg iodine. For me, it is a fine balance of getting that dosage just right.
The fish oil and krill oil help my mood and sleep immensely. I find that I am sensitive to the krill oil if I take too much (two pills a day is too much for me), but I also love the way it helps my mood. If I alternate days of taking it with the fish oil, that seems to work well for me.
The Raw Thyroid seems to help warm me up, but the effects are only noticeable after taking it for a few days.
The Maca seems to have the most noticeable affect on me. I really do believe it helps normalize and regulate the endocrine system. I would have to add a caution though, start out slow or it can actually give you the opposite affect of what you are looking for. (I take 1/2 - 3/4 tsp of the gelatinized powdered maca) Some people report normalizing thyroid tests after taking it for a month or two. I notice an increase in energy, improve mood, better athletic performance, lighter periods (that alone is worth it!), increase in libido (what it is most well known for probably.)
Until this summer I have struggled with my weight. Finally, with the help of these main supplements I can make progress when I follow a diet and exercise program.
If I take the supplements and attempt the "8 Peak exercise program" from Dr Mercola's site at least 3 times a week. ( I do this on a treadmill. It takes 20 minutes)
and eat mostly vegetables, fruit, beans, nuts and plenty of protein throughout the day (but not soy!), then I can lose weight.
My heart goes out to you.
Best of luck.
