Anyone ever suspect that there's something WRONG with SoCal?? We've got way too many people on here who live or have lived in SoCal (yep, me too, long time in OC). Seems disproportionate...
And relatives of mine in Cali all suffer from some sort of gut or skin problems, too, mum doesn't talk about it but always stocks Nystatin and has some prescription antifungal topicals in her medicine cabinet, pops always had an extremely sensitive "stomach" (also tries to never eat any food prepared by anyone except him, although he claims it's just his same-thing-everyday tastes) and has such a wicked beard rash he almost never shaves and keeps a prescription of some azole shampoo, everyone's got wicked dandruff... That's in the OC/LA region.
In SF, though, when visiting my uncle, I was just floored by the amount of topical steroids lying around his house. Later figured it was the same thing, since they can mask the irritation away if it's on your face or somewhere visible (they do no good and are actually bad, though, but they can make you look normal for a few hours almost instantly; topical tea tree oil and systemic treatments antifungal w/ massive probiotics to nuke it away work better, though). And my whole problem started with blotches on my face, too. Also, I first picked up on weird skin issues while living in Santa Cruz for several months.
So... is it something about SoCal or Cali entirely? Some weird unregulated pollution? Messed up climate?
