The Bill of Rights is a joke if no one defends them.
Look at The USA where borders aren't even being allowed to be protected by our so called democratic Federal Government. When things go wrong they go very wrong, and yes, it may have taken 200 years to get this bad, but in this society fighting for your rights isn't considered civil anymore. 200 years ago it was considered our duty. Now, we've been brainwashed into believing the government should take care of all our needs and that guns are bad.
Good luck to you guys!
Spud,
We're talking about the right to defend yourself, protect your family and survival. We live in civilized societies right now, but what if there was an economic collapse? Or worse? Would you willingly enter the trains to the internment camps? It seems there are a lot of people picturing this scenario, so it could happen.
We need another revolution here in America. The People need to take back the land and our money.
I bought this guy's book about surviving the collapse of Argentina and it was a good description of what it would be like. ferfal.blogspot.com/2008/10/thoughts-on-urban-survival-2005.html
Remember the American Revolution? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolutionary_War
It would be nice if we could think/pray it into happening, but the odds are we're going to have to defend ourselves very soon. You know the old saying, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I think peace, joy and love.... as I prepare for war.
If someone thinks you have a big mean dog, gun, weapons, or you're a big man, they won't mess with you. I know people who put large men's boots outside their doors so people think a big man lives there, or have signs "beware of dog" or "this property protected by smith & wesson" to keep the prowling criminals away. They go for easy targets.
It's a natural part of all societies, from prison to royal.
I don't fear anything or anyone BECAUSE I have my protection in place, and I know who I'm protecting myself against.
Now, if it were to get ugly like in the 1st revolution here, it will be harder to tell who the enemy is. I'm sure we'll learn the rules of the game when and if it starts.
So funny how they call wars theaters.....and we're all actors. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Revolutionary_War
"Historians have estimated that approximately 40–45% of the colonists actively supported the rebellion while 15–20% of the population of the thirteen colonies remained loyal to the British Crown. The remaining 35–45% attempted to remain neutral.[5]
At least 25,000 Loyalists fought on the side of the British. Thousands served in the Royal Navy. On land, Loyalist forces fought alongside the British in most battles in North America. Many Loyalists fought in partisan units, especially in the Southern theater."
The evil doers in the small town I live in are mostly twenty-something crack-heads trying to steal stuff. I've never had a problem, but that's who's arrested for burglarizing cars, businesses and houses in our community. Very rarely, you get the rapist/murderer, but that's once every 20 years or so and always happens to "the other guy".
You live in the country, but in the cities there don't you have drugs and crime?
I agree with DQ.
There are many examples of the need to bear arms, not just from the American Revolution resulting in our Bill of Rights to protect us from a corrupt government, but you see people fighting corrupt governments all over the world. Austrailia may be one of the few countries that didn't have to fight for their freedoms and rights. I don't know what your government's like, but the odds of it not being corrupt are slim.
After they seize your money, it doesn't take long before they're controlling your every move in the name of "protection". We need to protect ourselves from them.
