I have so much trouble separating the grains from the thick kefir part. There's junks of kefir & I can't tell that apart from the grains. Finally yesterday out of frustration, I just used my hand & felt for the grains. Basically just squeezing the thick junks, and the kefir would be crushed in my hand, while I'd feel the rubbery grains.
Everytime I try and strain my kefir, the strainer leaves behind a big glob of goop which contains kefir & grains. I try to stir it around with a spoon, but can't get good separation of the 2. I also feel if I try & stir the kefir to hardly or fast, I will be breaking the grains up. Alot of my grains are super small already cause I may have crushed them.
