A majority minority says nothing whatsoever about an Hispanic majority, which is what you originally contended.

89 percent white 9 percent black and never an Indian country?  If you want to use figures only for the areas after they became states and had pretty much wiped out or run off the Indians, you could say that it was not an American Indian country, but it surely was an American Indian continent and the area that came to ultimately make up today's present US was certainly American Indian.  Even in the original 13 colonies there was a significant Indian population and they played major roles in the Revolutionary War.   All those townships, counties, rivers and landmarks didn't get Indian names for nothing.  Estimates of the Native American Indian population in what is now the US at the time of Columbus arrival range to 18 million.

Originally, every bit of the area that makes up the US today was Indian country, and most of it only became white country after the Indians had been killed off by war and disease, run off and/or relocated. The only exceptions were the areas such as California and Texas in the early 1800s which were predominately Hispanic until the whites took over their lands.
