Most applicants quickly lose interest once the reality sinks in that these are back-breaking jobs in triple-digit temperatures that pay minimum wage, usually without benefits, according to the union. Some small farms are not required to pay minimum wage and in 15 states farms aren't required to offer workers' compensation.
Would the same be nearly as true if there were not such a huge work force of illegals who were willing to be exploited that way?
Notably, less than 1 in 20 illegal aliens do farm work. Though the bulk of illegal aliens do take lower paying and less skilled jobs with fewer benefits, their willingness to take such jobs suppresses wages and benefits for such jobs for all workers. Thus, not only do they take our jobs, they make many of our jobs less attactive and less beneficial.
It's always been that way because souls come here to learn lessons. When they learn the lessons and wake up, they don't need to be abused anymore, and the abuse will stop.
It takes two to tango.
