I know it's been a long, long time since I have been in the forum. One of my curezone friends has been writing me lately on my email address at yahoo and I decided to come to the forum. I'd been so busy working fulltime and doing classes online I hardly had the time to come to the forum at all.
Anyway I noticed someone put something in the forum about Prilosec helping them, with their fecal breath problem, and I agree. You see my Bo problem finally left for good after taking an over the counter acid reducer called Ranitidine, and I started having results. I was taking Nullo tablets and zinc. I still take very few probiotics, vitamin B2,and folic acid and enzymes. I sometimes use actvated charcaol occassionally.
I really got break throughs with the acid reducer's because my gastroesophagael reflux got so bad I was having other symptoms, like coughing, unable to talk and a scratchy throat. I learned that the acid causes the food in the stomach and esophagus to become sour and smell in the body. The smell would go away and cause a different smell but I would have gas.
I would still have the smell sometimes especially in my throat where food would sit.(I could actually feel it in my throat) coming up from my esophagus.(which is where the gas would be) Since I've been taking the tablets I don't have any problems at all. Any way I'm not saying this is everyone's problem but it may be the root cause of some. All my docs saw nothing but acid in me when they did tests. Sometimes our digestive systems cannot digest sugars and other foods completely. I take my over the counter product 2xs a day. I no longer take any prescription drugs for gastroesophagel reflux disease, the over the counter stuff work just fine. I had been taking the acid reducers faithfully for about 3 to 4 weeks but started noticing results before then. The strength is 150mg per pill. Those who have not been tested from your doctors I recommend that you get tested before taking acid reducers to see if you have acid refux or other problems. www.bodyodor777.com/causes_stomach.html
First of all Mary thank you for your welcome. I tried the betaine tablets they worked for a while and even the apple cider vinegar but after awhile they both had me smelling really funny like a smokey smell so I stopped them. I'm still taking the Nullo and the zinc together,(because the Nullo hs copper chlorophyllin and should be taken with zinc because of the copper) I take 1-2 probiotics pills a day, I sometimes take the enzymes, but I use charcoal maybe 3xs a week at night before going to bed. I also take the vitamin B2 and folic acid. (they suggested that for TMAU which I'm still not sure that I have) The nullo and zinc helps with underarm odors and foot odors.
I want you to know that we in this forum know that you are not crazy.nor are you hallucinating. I'm sorry to hear that you are going thru that unnecessary hell with them (The docs)thinking you are. Everyone pretty much know that this thing makes people depressed.
I have chemical imbalance in my hormones (because of thyroid issues)but I know that Sam-E is good for depression and the liver. I take L-methionine (which is the ingredient in Sam-E) it helps with depression, and it brings a balance to chemical imbalances in the brain. It is not expensive but anyone who takes it may want to take it with B12(the sublinguals that melt under the tongue) Apparently prozac dosen't do it all. But Sam-E can be taken with other meds and not do harm. We are all pulling for you in this forum Mary,God bless!
First of all I have been taking prescription meds for acid reflux for some time but I was taking them once a day. I tried Protonics,Previcid,Nexium. The prescriptions were stronger but when I didn't renew my prescription, I did research and saw that my symptoms were more than just plain acid reflux.
I have problems with lots of gas and I took Betaine tablets by themselves and filtered apple cider vinegar but it didn't help too much because the problem is in my esophagus. and the vinegar literally burned my insides of my stomach. I know what they said about havng too much acid or not enough can do for you. I can take betaine tablets and acid reducer tablets at the same time and it will not harm me, in fact it was rcommended that if you take acid reducers taking betaine would help too. I just know when I ate food it wasn't fully being digested in my system and food kept coming back up through my esophagus, and I had difficulty talking. and coughed continuously. Certain foods I ate you could actually smell the food hours after I'd eaten, it was just that bad.
That is why I still take enzymes(to help break up foods)and probiotcs. Zinc helps also helps with hormones and if you have thyroid issues, or sweat. The Nullo has copper in it and it works as a body freshner. It was in the TMAU forum and recommended for TMAU, I only take 1 pill 2 xs a day with the zinc, B2. I thought I had symptoms of TMAU. Since taking the acid reducer I've started decreasing supplements. Charcoal helps with digeston and also helps against digestion problems. It also clears your digestve system of toxins.
My problem was in my esophagus which caused problems with my colon. and other areas. Your mouth and digestion are together,The esophagus helps the food get to the stomach and if it's not working right there will be problems. I've had the problem for years but didn't think it was causing odor problems. I will always take probiotics, and enzymes because I need too, but maybe not as often. I take much less supplements than I used too. Hopefully I'll be able to stop the B2 one day. But all my life I've had digestive issues, you live and you learn. I don't think the smell will come back but if I don't take my acid reducers for a long time it might because I have a medical condition with acid. The pills I take are a generic over the counter but it would help people to get diagnosed with acid reflux or something else before trying to take them because there may be side effects. I will include the betaine again now that you mentioned it. I will also continue to decrease some of the other stuff and will keep you posted.
That's good to know. On the box the ingredents diidn't list it but it may have been used in other words, so thanks for the info. I'd been prescribed Zantac in the prescription formula in the past but I guess because I took it once a day it didn't seem to help much. Maybe taking the generic formula in a lower dose a couple of times a day helped more.
Just think I was diagnosed with gerd for more than 10 years and to tell you the truth the docs only said that I had a lot of acid in my stomach which caused me to have an erosion in my esophagus. I guess I just never took it seriously, but I lost faith while taking the meds. I didn't think they were helping. Betaine tablets help more with enzymatic digestion which is why sometimes people with gerd may need to take the acid blockers as well.
I had a fecal odor awhile back but it would come back on and off. It then turned into a musty odor. To tell you the truth the odor was always different, depending on what I would eat. Then it got to the point where it started to smell like a smokey odor when I took the HCL tablets alone. But there were times when I took the the filtered apple cider vinegar and it would be fecal again so I would take the vinegar with a little water like twice a week, then I stopped it altogether. It was only when I broke wind did the smell start to go away and at times, and I noticed really bad heartburn that's when I knew it was acid and gas related.
My breath was bad but not fecal smelling though. I would wake up in the mornng with bad breath.
Why is it hard to believe I didn't have fecal breath problems? I've never had that problem, and no one has ever told me I did. Trust me if I did have it I would definitely know. I've had sour breath but never fecal.
I know people who have gerd or acid reflux and none of them have had fecal breath that I know of. You need to know that some people in this forum cases are different. I took Zantac (rantidine) to hlp with my BO problem, the person who had fecal breath took Prilosec for their problem. Maybe you should talk to them if you have the same problem.
I was reading some stuff and realized I hadn't answered your question. I haven't really been on any special diet right now. Although I drink chocolate milk, otherwise I don't do much dairy. At the moment I'm on a regular diet. I will try to cut down on acidity foods that causes lots of gas though, like coffee and chocolate, baked beans, and especially lemonade.
Yeah, I know what you mean you see my symptoms also delt with post nasal drip and very sore throat, it always felt like something was caught in my throat because my food was coming back up. There is something also called LPR AND THIS DEALS WITH HAVING FOOD CAUGHT IN THE Laranyx and the pharynx. This too can cause problems in the throat and odor, only this does not involve acid, but they say it is a reflux and at times can be caused by reflux.
I have a doctor's appointment coming up for this. Because I thought it was tonsil stones at first or a sinus infection so I started taking goldenseal and echinea. My sinuses have cleared up but I still feel funny sometimes in my throat. I've also been gargling acv and water, and brushing my teeth with peroxide and baking soda. I've added pepcid too because they say if you have LPR you can take a ppi like Nexium or Prilosec along with Pepcid. The only supplements I've been taking is Lactobacillus acidolphilis (which I was already taking) and maybe a couple of vitamins daily, the other stuff for Tmau I've haven't be taking for awhile. Healing takes a couple of months, so they say. But I have had some relief since starting the PPi's with the Pepcid AC. But if you google fbo along wit LPR you may see some connection.
