Dr. Lam
There is no upper limit of vitamin C. The Bowl Tolerance Level you mentioned only applies to oral form of ascorbic acid due to absorption issues and not due to cellular saturation or toxicity. IV drip vitamin C from 100,000 mg to much higher has been used by many over the past 50 years without side effects. I have used Liponano C at many times what is required for adrenal fatigue for other conditions (such as wounds caused by spider bite and toxin so released that cause poor wound healing and ulcer which refuse to get better) where IV is not an option with great results. Adrenal fatigue is a straight forward situation where Vitamin C acts as a necessary component and catalyst in hormone production. Back 20 years ago before current technology, oral ascorbic acid is the only route of delivery for those who cannot tolerate IV. We are much more fortunate now to have these alternate and better forms. In fact, the efficacy at the cellular level may be close, and in some reported case reports, better than IV. The key to understand Vitamin C generally speaking is that it is the best electron donor available, and these electrons , when flooding the cells, reduce cell death and thus is the regenerative properties. Hope this helps.
I was a medical student when Dr Pauling was at Cal Institute of Technology not far from us. His work was simply amazing. The more you study Dr Pauling, the more you have to recognize him as probably one of the greatest scientist of this century. His hypothesis on Vitamin C alone and its association with the unified concept of cardiovascular disease ( to put it simply, that atherosclerosis is pathologically equal to focal scurvy) has yet to be proven wrong and in fact is become more obvious with research. It is amazing how this simple compound, Vitamin C, when properly used, can be so powerful. Yet after 50 years and hundreds of scientific studies, it is still being doubted. It proves that no amount of science can change a skeptical mind. He is just 30 years ahead of the curve of forward looking doctors and at least 50 years ahead of conventional western medicine. We are now blessed with new delivery systems such as that used in Liponano C that Dr Pauling will be very pleased if he is alive because it avoid many of the problems of ascorbic acid.
