This is a reply to # 1,605,834They have one at 225$ I was expecting to find a less expensive one. It is hard to believe it is doing same thing as the one you could still get for 50$ 2 years ago... I might buy it anyways. BTW, got the smen under preparation (lucky me...!!)

You are just extracting the bacteria?
- add Sugar to 1/2 pint jar
- add pinch of Mannitol (not essential)
- add sliver of cheese
- hold at near 22c for +4-6 hrs
- strain through coffee filter
- hold same mix again for time remaining 24hrs
- early decant some
- let the rest hold for 3 more days
- add Sugar and refrigerate
When needed make more using that stock.

The reason Smen is used is because once you make butter there is little lactose left. At first all the bacteria compete but once the lactose is gone only this one survives because it can use fat as an energy source.
Same deal with very old cheese, takes +4 years for the lactose bacteria to run out of food...
Also Smen is usually 10% cow milk, not sure if what we read is disinformation or those with commercial interests keeping their secret.

Is is required? Not right now but it might uncover something new again in the future...

This is a reply to # 1,606,023and in any event will help those without a bean... looking forward to the experiment, and eating the cheese. lots of movement in the gut the last few days. For dowsing I still get none active, but a positive to metabolic waste products. not sure if accurate or not. time will tell.
