* AG: Congress lacks power to force insurance purchases
NEW YORK, March 22 (Reuters) - Virginia's attorney general said he plans to sue the federal government over the healthcare reform legislation, saying Congress lacks authority to force people to buy health insurance.
Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli, a Republican, said on Monday that Congress lacks authority under its constitutional power to regulate interstate commerce to force people to buy insurance. He said the bill also conflicts with a state law that says Virginians cannot be required to buy insurance.
"If a person decides not to buy health insurance, that person by definition is not engaging in commerce," Cuccinelli said in recorded comments. "If you are not engaging in commerce, how can the federal government regulate you?"
Cuccinelli said he plans to file his lawsuit in federal court in Richmond, Virginia, after President Barack Obama signs the bill into law, which he is expected to do.
The bill requires most Americans to have health coverage, and provides subsidies to help lower-income workers afford it. [ID:nLDE62L01U]

I think that those states that don't want the Health Care Bill should be allowed to opt out. That way, the populace would run all the Republicans out of town for good and the Democrats would have a majority for the next 50 years.
I have a better idea. All the states that are tired of the dumbocratic bullsheet secede from the union. That way the HC won't count in those states.
All the dumbocrats will have to suck it up, or leave for other states. This includes all the illegal aliens that want health care, and other liberal perverts. This way certain states will be the cess pools of the continent. The rest can be happy they don't have a Chicago overlord to contend with and can lead healthy, peaceful lives
Keep your eye on the clock, dummy. You asked for it.
I think that's a good idea. All the right wing nuts like yourself should move to Texas and secede. I'd like nothing better.
I said all the states. If that would happen, you librats couldn't afford the HC bill.
Insurance rates would go up, Taxes would go up, [Remember after the states secede they don't have to pay federal tax]. They don't have to let some federal education czar pervert come to their schools and teach "fisting" and other homosexual acts. They won't have to pay some BS "cap and trade" tax that was set up to enrich the already rich.
The more I think about it, the more I like the idea.
Most Americans are smarter than you so you and yours will have to take one state - what's wrong isn't Texas big enough for you?
Texas would be fine, but why should the republicans have to move? Better the librats, and the illegal aliens. That way you could support everybody with higher taxes.
I'm getting excited thinking about it. We could print our own money which would be backed by gold. We would have a state tax, but it would be a sales tax so that no forms would have to be filled out every year, and no money spent for an entity like the IRS which drains tens of millions of dollars every year to operate.
We could legalize drugs, and cut the crime rate by 70%, cut it even further by giving you the illegal aliens. Tell Monsanto to stick their poisons up their azz, and Inform the Pharmaceutical companies they couldn't advertise their drugs in our states, plus they couldn't lobby, or target our doctors trying to sell their poisons. All natural supplements, and medical modalities would be legal.
We could be free of government intervention.
I love it
