at this point, I'm very concerned about the yeast. Have been fighting with improvements, but obviously still there in the gut.? Not feeling many symtoms of this now either but hoping the GI doc can help me with this. As far as the parasites/protozoa, my ND seems to think any of these Pharmacuticals would help to knock it out since they are all "sensitive". From listening in on the websight on the diaganosis of Taxomony Unavailabe for parasites
seems they group in 2, Protozan /Helmis (worms) if they give a TU diagnosis, it is not worms. That is what they say. They say TU can pass, could be transient. Can be crowded out by good bacteria and other things. Metametrix specifically looks for 25 harmful parasites, the others are not nearly as pathogenic. If anything besides the 25 harmful parasites in their DNA testing, it is considered taxonomy unavailable. Anotherwords, positive but not the other. Can't pinpoint exacly what it is. Frustrating because I would like to know how to treat this. Still, whatever I have has reaked havoc on my once perfect healthy body.
Concerned about the yeast/fungi. Most common yeast is Candida, but there are others. Still don't know what mine is specifically, but it has never been the Candida. Same treatment though?? Nobody seems to be able to answer that question. Anyway, insight is gladly appreciated. Thanks, Gibby

Ok, looks like the beneficial e coli is in acceptable range but low.
So looks like you have three things going on::
1) Yeast/fungus
2) h. pylori
3) parasite present (TU).
Here is what I think:
1. the bowel ecology is going to have problems with the bacteria and parasite issue going on. When the bowel ecology is messed up then the yeast/fungus issue is going to have problems.
2. The parasite present issue is probably of main concern. I have seen this return on a number of people. MM says there are 2 possiblities, the first being a non-human parasite that has been ingested and is merely passing thru the gut. and the second is that it is a pathogenic protozoa that cannot be identified. I would guess that it is probably the latter.
The most logical explanation for the PP TU is one of two things 1) it is a parasite that has yet to be identified as pathogenic which is quite possible 2) it is a genotype of an existing parasite. A genotype basically means that it is a mutated strain of an existing parasite. I have medical papers that describe this. So basically you could have a derivative of b. hominis, or giardia.
This can present a little stumbling block in that which course of therapy do you choose? Well testimonials on the badbugs.org site indicate that there can be a number of options available as different people respond to different protocols. I do know thru my own research that it is unlikely that non-pharmaceuticals will resolve this issue but there are a couple of choices you could take. Caprylic acid and monolauric acid may do the trick, also there are a few herbs that have clinically be shown to help such as coptis chinesis which is a berberine type of herb. Contact me for other options if you wish.
The h. pylori issue is something to consider. This pathogen can be quite disruptive and cause the bowel ecology to be thrown off. I do not have much experience in this but do know that a pharamaceutical plan has been established.
I do know that probiotics will feed the protozoa infection so you might want to take that into consideration. But I would probably go after the h. pylori first, assuming it is an easy protocol, it should lessen the load on the immune system. Then I would go after the protozoa infection and lastly the yeast/fungus due to the belief that the bowel ecology should be better after removal of the bacteria and protozoa infections, then perhaps the body will naturally remove the yeast/fungus.
To treat the h. pylori, a normal doc should be able to serum test and treat. The protozoa stuff is probably going to fall on you to treat since doctors and the alt field does not know how to properly treat these. badbugs.org has all the info you need for that.

Didn't know that probiotics feed protozoa!! I have been taking probiotics for months and months now, (Genova tests said I had no lactobicillibus!!) so I was trying to replenish. Plus, I was drinking kefir (homeade) daily for about 2 months, and eating the grains to combat yeast and colonize good bacteria!!!!!!!! My ND told me to stop.
You make a lot of sense. So you think I should investigate the h.pylori issue even though I display no symtoms. OK, makes sense. I guess a blood test will show that..Have to research this more but I will definately ask about this. What I have read so far is that 50% of people won't have symtoms. Actually prebiotics are part of a treatment for that, which I am on now. It says so in the Metametrix booklet.
Ahhhh yes, yet to ever be identified... parasite or protozoa.. I have had so many tests Lineup. Nothing has ever been identified. Just curious, you mentioned b. hominis or giardia, maybe? why do you think it could be those? Never had symtoms of giardia, and need to research the other one.

Lineup, their are genotypes from parasites themselves (worms) anotherwords, leaving behind their protozoa, but are their genotypes off of the protozoa? Is that what your saying?

Hello, I passed that along to my ND. We want to know more about this.
I am taking BiotGen prebiotic along with Bifido since I was low and it makes the prebiotic more effective. Yet at the same time, don't want to feed the protozoa. Would you mind explaining this a bit more?

I am wondering if you have found any treatment that worked especially for the Edolimax nana. Do you have any suggestions for treatment. I have similar problems: yeast, Edolimax, PPTU, and SIBO bacteria imbalances. I noticed you had a very high level of Streptomyces I do as well. Did you take any Antibiotics like neomycin, erythromycin etc. that are manufactured from Streptomyces I took a few different Antibiotics derived from Streptomyces and wonder if that caused a Streptomyces imbalance.

I just completed a Metametrix test and it showed, ' parasite present, taxonomy unavailable.' 'Yeast/fungi positive, +2'. Most of the other results were normal, except positive for aacA and aphD drug resistance genes. Also, my fecal SigA is 7, which I guess is fairly low.
I've had symptoms for almost 2 years now. Mostly itching and pain in the anal region, along with the scrotum and groin. I've had a yeast infection once, but the dermatologist thinks I've had yeast overgrowth this entire time. I've also seen a ton of doctors during this time and none could figure out what I had until this recent test because I've had a few stool and blood tests that all came back as normal before I tried the more detailed metametrix test.
I am meeting with my doctor within a week, but am looking for advice on what medications I should be asking for and what parasites, etc you think I might be suffering from. I'm also concerned since this issue has been ongoing for so long.
