The CURSE of the law or the BLESSING of the law????...it depends on which law you are observing (the old law of "commandments and ordinances"/rules OR .....the PERFECT law?).
Ephesians 2:15
"by abolishing in his flesh the law of commandments and ordinances".
James 1:25
"But he who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty".
James 2:12
"So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty".
True understanding of spiritual things (GODLY spiritual, not man's "spirituality") requires a paradigm shift in thinking (different reference point).
Permit me to point out the irony of the traditional teachings (I know, this is regarded as 'sarcasm').....
If a person is normally a hateful and destructive person (evil, disgusting human being), then in order for them to be a member in good standing of the "Christian" community, they must decide to stop being hateful and destructive (they must "sacrifice" their old ways) by agreeing to "obey" all of the prohibitions against evil (commands and rules/ordinances) and avoid "spiritual" "sin" (now that word is only a figure of speech for "wrongdoing")......of course, evil and disgusting people really want nothing to do with Christianity and wouldn't be on this forum.
1 John 5:17
"All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin which is not mortal"/soul damaging.
Whenever evil, disgusting human beings become 'SUCCESSSFUL obeyers', they become puffed up and "self righteous", and they will have no true sentiment of "mercy" in their heart and mind.
If you know of an evil, disgusting person who wants to be a member of the Christian community, remind them that they are prohibited from causing evil (they must "OBEY" the commands that prohibit evil). They also must perform PROCEDURES/rituals properly...including....
1) study, study, study (and properly analyze everything).
2) "pray", "pray", "pray" (they don't allow themselves to just "talk with" God).
They have no true desire to be peaceful and just (HOLY RIGHTEOUS), they are....
...THE 'OBEYERS'........they have a TEXTUAL/LITERARY devotion, not a LOVE DEVOTION (REAL "circumcision"/devotion), they are not an INNER TEMPLE....they do not have a "more excellent" devotion (1 Corinthians 12:31).
Romans 2:29
"and real circumcision is a matter of the heart, spiritual and not literal".
Matthew 12:7
"if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless".
The Israelites did not have THE FINAL CLEANSING, if they did.....
Hebrews 10:2
"they would no longer have any consciousness of sin".
Luke 15:7
"one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance".............some Christians do not have to be "FORCED"/commanded to be peaceful and just (holy righteous), some do.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,592,427You have a corrupted version of scripture, bewnyfur. Many of today's versions have been watered down, made to be politically correct, and been made so that nobody gets upset by reading anything harsh (nobody wants to see 'their natural face in the mirror).
Publishers have been watering down scripture so that it reads like a nice 'fairy tale' so they can sell more at the bookstore (and the pastors don't warn anyone as long as you fill their collection plate).

There are many discrepancies in today's bibles....missing verses (from verse 29 to 31), misleading words and phrases, and deleted words like "Jesus" and "sin", etc.
Not just the NIV, but many versions are corrupt.
The KJV has the Jews celebrating "EASTER" instead of PASSOVER because the KJV was made for the Church of England.
No doubt, you wish to stay with your bible (what can I say?), it is your choice.

This is a reply to # 1,592,439I use bible.cc usually, which has multiple translations on the same page.
I cross referenced with the Greek for my post, everything appeared on the up and up, are there any discrepancies of translation in the text I posted. I may have missed it, let me know. I used the NIV because it is the one at the top, I prefer the KJV, because I am more knowledgeable of the flaws in it. And of course depending on the level of contention referencing a lexicon.
Since I have been debating with people who are anti-christian here on this forum, I use NIV mostly because the translations, are in modern English. I knew there was controversy with the translation, but not whole verses missing. Thanks for the heads up!
The I John 5:7 is particularly glaring. I'm far from a Bible scholar. A little humility can be a nice wake up call to step things up a bit.

I said that because so many, many people I write/speak to simply want to argue, argue, argue because they've decided not to like ME (they challenge the MESSENGER instead of the message)......('OPPOSE and argue' is all they know).

...but now I understand you better because you speak of HUMILITY (the requirement and maintenance of wisdom).
I was talking/blogging to someone who used the KJV and pointed out to them Hebrews 6:1 in the RSV....
"Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity" (Hebrews 6:1 in the RSV).
The KJV doesn't say "doctrine of Christ", it says "PRINCIPLES" and that seriously undermines the meaning (the "doctrine of Christ" is VERY important for spiritual growth/maturity).
...but when they checked the originall 1611 version, the "doctrine of Christ" was very boldly mentioned.
The KJV also uses the word "perfection" in place of "maturity" (no mention at all of "maturity" or spiritual growth). I forget what their 1611 original said about perfection/maturity, but, as you will see, specific mention of the doctrine of Christ should NEVER have been overlooked by the KJV translators....The Lord made sure to tell us of it's importance....
2 John verse 9...(only one chapter)
"and does not abide in the DOCTRINE OF CHRIST does NOT HAVE GOD; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son".

"And the Spirit is the witness, because the Spirit is the truth"....(1 John 5:7 in the RSV).
1 John 5:7 is referring to the water that flowed from Christ's side at the cross (not just blood flowed). It is the "living" water of God's spirit that consecrates/baptizes the new covenant inner temple (us, the individual) to the outer temple (Jesus) so that we "neither thirst" (Revelation 7:16). Whoever TRULY believes in Jesus, they will have "rivers" flowing from their heart....
John 7:38
"He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, 'Out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water'".
John the Baptist simply used H2O water, but now GOD'S SPIRIT will baptize us (humans cannot baptize, only God's spirit does the "baptizing", this is WATER BAPTISM)....
Acts 1:5....and 11:16
"for John baptized with water, but before many days you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit".
Ephesians 4:5
"one lord, one faith, ONE baptism"........
.....(some believe in many baptisms because they don't read, they just do/think/believe as told by pastors/commentaries).
David had the witness (the spirit) AND he was spiritually inside the Son/Messiah...AND he also loved the Father.....David had the completeness of God (God in entirety/totality)......
David said that The father ("LORD" in capital letters) said to "MY" lord (Messiah, Son) "Sit at my right hand". Since David was inspired by the spirit, David had ALL OF GOD...
Colossians 2:9..."the WHOLE FULLNESS"....Jesus is what some call "the trinity".
It is fairly well known that bible translators use their bias and change some words, but it really amazed me to find out that the KJV translators fooled with "doctrine of Christ". Of course, many of the original King James English words were not understandable or even recognizable (modernizing the language was neccessary), but hiding a WHOLE CONCEPT such as the DOCTRINE OF CHRIST is just plain....well......criminal.

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. 13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. 14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Each Bible version translation becomes a new angle to look at the scriptures. There is a message in these discrepancies. When we read the NIV and see there are full verses missing because of its angle, perhaps we can apply that angle to the whole text and come to a greater understanding not only of the translators views, but also of the text and the very nature and truth of the words themselves. This could also work to determine greater meaning of words that were crafted particularly for the KJV. There is a greater reason this has happened, with patience it will be revealed.

That's the age old carrot held up to the horse in an attempt to lead that advertisers use to sell products. Same game different era and purpose. Separation that drives neediness to fix the separation. You can be "perfect" if only you (that's where they install the scriipt and people respond accordingly. In our day and age people respond by purchasing unnecessary things in order to fill the void that was suggested they have. (separation)
The bible does it as a service to keep the slaves divided (easier to control that way). ;-)

jesus have not wrote books and he spoke not from a book or writen laws; it was his will, awareness, God will and love to life. jesus knew life was simple but his people did not do the same so they had to write it and control other to do it but not themselve.they do it nowadays to their laws they write themselve again and again, justice on justice, corruption on corruption and now...terrible. a real cheat!!!! you can use energy to invent things to kill yourself and others or to give life to you awareness, wisdome, sensitivity, health, love to your home, your livings, your neighbor, your family, childen and animals. we have kept using the evil instinct in destruction by means of things to avoid pain - this is real ego, the verment. each one has to change the energy, the evil system, don't be afraid of threat. this fearlessness is the only way that you will use for right pain to awake you, not to more ignorance and search in useless inverntion to eat junk and drugs that kills you. indeed there are evil people who want you to destroy for nothing not to say for money only. these people are making the poor ever poorer so that they will be more active and cheaten for their money. only your hope to avoid pain illudes you to be like this evil men (they will torture you if not obey so you must have to like their dream of snakes) who destroy to eat and eat - there is no balance, no sanity. if we do not change....

This is a reply to # 1,593,372our goal has to be Godly one: that is when there is more pain the reaction must be the awaking of whereabout the pain so that life will be protected. i can see that people responds to the pain of others, or the sorrow of our daily state of life in a way not awaking. they make more pain on others by trying to hide for fear of right life and action and reaction. they act and hate in their jobs. they love nature and destroy it merciless. they talk about things and desire and condemn you with its action and never understand your desparation or inner state. this is how i see hearts of others. I cannot hide the fact that people suffer on my account or i on them. i am sensitive to this heart yet I have to be patient of the other who don't know you at all - i talk about my neighbors. nowadays there is no anything like competition for awareness and truly help from inside your soul. cruelty and false love is growing and each one is responsible even if not aware of it in himself. and you have to grow independ on any outside knowlegde to remind you of pain and to awake your self by undestanding it - this will bring you to your heart. I want this to my self and i have learn a lot from my heart just from seeing. it is real gift from God of life and i like that in others as a protection of all of us. to grow true to you self you cannot fear pain and you have to learn to breath as well. this pain become real glory and joy.
you, bewnyfur, have showed wonderful thing on the bible and I took a photo copy of one: I love it for it read what i know in my heart as well from experience and books and likewise the bible confirm it as the law of the heart which i believe each one should have embodies. the world today is not tools as relegion or teaching or methodes but love to life and this equal to my God. you heart is your teacher, the will of GOd and through which he changes our lives. no one else and we all like that we are starve for that. we are in pain and inflict pain seeking to find a feeling and true meaning of life but in a wrong way. there is life in you and it ever changes and growing and we have to welcome that not condemn it for the sake of duties. there are many waste of our lives and we have to be aware and get rid of them or they get rid of us. what you choose? i have found very few who has a heart that talks for fear. we want to learn how to free this fear or not? i went here in the church and no priest to talk about it at all. not on radio, not wise, here too bad, not our home, you see what i mean?Advertisement
