In a double-blind clinical trial, ashwagandha was tested in a group of 101 healthy males, 50-59 years old, at a dosage of 3 grams daily for one year. I cannot imagine trying to saturate my body's tissues with iodine without the companion supplements. Luckily, I was taking them before I started on iodine, because the detox was awful, and imaginative. I also added oil-pulling at least once a day to the list of necessary things to do.
I felt more in control when I decided my own rules for pulse-dosing, but my body pretty much ignored them and did what it wanted anyway. The rules then became guidelines to suggest what to do when I just couldn't think how to solve a problem. All that's to say -- your body will tell you how to proceed, and you're already listening to it. Good work!
