I have developed red hard bonelike bumps on a few fingers first joints below the nails. Instead of running to the doctor I run to the computer now and google stuff (no wonder those guys are the richest in the world) and came up with bone spurs-- and that they're a sign of degenerative bone disease of the spine! I've had lower back pain for a year now and I thought it was normal from age and letting my waist line go.
Then I come ask you for natural help. (you deserve to be rich!) Is there anything I can do to prevent bone disease? There's no reason to go to a doctor for this is there?
I have all the symptoms of RH. I made an appt. at my NP for next week and hopefully I'll find out for sure that I don't have it. How could you help someone with RH?
Thank You.

If it simple degenerative bone disease then this is really easy to address. Read my write up on the Bone and Joint Formula. But this sounds possibly like rheumatoid arthritis as well, which would be addressed in a different manner. You can still work on strengthening the skeletal system regardless, especially for your back. And this can also help keep down the joint inflammation. But it would also be a good idea to have a few tests run such as an ANA to make sure it is not rheumatoid arthritis. Left untreated it could lead to bone formation and fusion.
A few symptoms of RA include heat in the joints from the inflammation and people will generally run a low grade fever.
Reading the symptoms, I'm almost positive that's what I have and it's making me sick to my stomach. I have had all the symptoms, except this new finger thing, for years and I'm so sick of doctors not figuring it out.
What kind of treatment is there? Is there any natural cures?
Thanks Hv.

Yes, this is a bacterially induced autoimmune disorder. The best way to deal with RA is antimicrobial herbs and adrenal support. The role the adrenals play is reduction of inflammation and immune modulation through the production of corticosteroids.
What you do not want to do is to go on pharmaceutical steroids and immune suppressants, which is the standard mainstream therapy. They are under the false assumption that autoimmune disorders are a result of an overactive immune system. They are not. They are actually from immune suppression through the adrenals. This is why adrenal suppressants such as stress, stimulants and steroids make the underlying cause of autoimmune conditions worse.
People often get confused with my statement above because the drugs can make them feel better. But the mainstream therapies are partially used to reduce inflammation since arthritis is inflammation of the joint, but are primarily used to wipe out the immune system. Since they are under the false impression that this is from an overactive immune system they use drugs to suppress the immune system so your immune system cannot mount a proper immune response. Of course this makes the underlying condition worse because it allows the bacteria to take a better hold and suppresses the body's own ability to suppress inflammation and to regulate the immune response through the production of high affinity antibodies, instead of autoantibodies (low affinity antibodies).
Send me a PM again with your e-mail address again and I can send you a copy of my write up on autoimmunity that will explain this a lot more in depth.
I'm pissed off because the doctor didn't recognize it 5 years ago when I had a complete breakdown (complained of everything, no energy, everything hurt, low fever) including my knees blew up with fluid until they were unrecognizable. She didn't even look at my knees when she saw my list of complaints. She said "Do you know what doctors think when you bring a laundry list of complaints like that? They think you're kookoo."
I was too weak to even joke about it. Bitch.
Back and forth to different docs and all they say is I have Hashimoto's because my SED rate's high and my thyroid's non existant. I don't because it's gone and I never got a real diagnosis, only what I got in here that it's candida.
My back's been getting worse and worse. My knee fell apart and I had surgery. I'm so tired.
If this is bacterial there must be herbs to take, but it may have been too long ago. Is it still bacterial after 5 years or more autoimmune? I think eating so much meat lately may have brought it on.
I'm going to the walk-in clinic today. I can't think this if it may not be my problem.
Thanks Hv. I'll PM you to send me stuff.

This is a great example of my belief that doctors are way too reliant on lab tests. I was lecturing in San Diego a few years ago and there was a doctor in the audience. She got mad at me when I made a comment to this effect. But they too often fail to look at the overall picture and focus only on a small part of the picture utilizing lab tests to back their assumptions.
In this case they assumed the high SED rate was a result of a thyroid issue and ignored the other symptoms. A high SED rate can indicate a number of things including rheumatoid arthritis. Based on your other symptoms the doctor should have also ordered other tests including CRP, rheumatoid factors and an anti-CCP antibody test.
I'm slow, but I found the RA forum here and you just posted all the answers there.
