I agree with everything HOW said. My experience as a newbie was that the smaller Iodoral (12.5 mg ea) made for easier dosing changes. They're very easy to swallow, and are scored to easily break in half to create 6.25 mg, the same amount as in one drop of Lugol's. When you're really sure of your dosage, then you could commit to the 50-mg tabs. I tried Lugol's drops, but was one of those whose stomach was really bothered by it once I got past a few drops. The Iodoral break up in my small intestine, and I personally like the effect. I also use Trapper's SSKI, 1 drop for every 25 mg Iodoral, because that seems to balance the "dark" of elemental iodine with the "light" of potassium iodide.
