So a friend of mine had an operation less than 2 years ago to remove ovarian cysts, and her endometriosis is acting up again. She's been in pain. I sent her
Iodine a while ago but only now she attempted to try it since she's having trouble.
I guess most people aren't interested in researching and taking health into their own hands. I know I wasn't until I came to understand all to clearly that the docs would NOT be able to help me.
I sent her stuff... I don't think she did much research. I told her some basic stuff, hoping not to scare her off since
Iodine should help with this. Here's what happened:

Sunday I could barely get the energy to get out of bed. So I had to cancel my craft party, which I was really looking forward to. I was even gonna make fancy cupcakes for it. My old friend from high school was even going to come! In mid afternoon I started to get worse and my fever got so bad that I started shaking and couldn’t stop. Mark looked up the symptoms of an
Iodine overdose online and I had almost all of the symptoms. So after a bit of prodding he finally got me to give in and go to the ER.
When I got to the ER my fever had gone up to 103. It went up higher than that I know though, at least to 104, as when 2 ½ hours later and they still hadn’t given me any fluid and my heart was racing, my face was super flushed, and I felt on fire, I started panicking because I reiterated to them that I dehydrate easily. Mark even went out to ask a nurse to give me fluids when I started looking really bad and the guy was really shitty to him and was like in a minute! Then when he finally came in, he was trying to tell me that my heart was racing because of the fever. And I was like look. I know what happens when I dehydrate. My heart starts racing. When I *got* here my fever was already at 103 and my heart was FINE then. Because of your negligence I’m now like this. So I finally got fluids and soon after felt a lot better.
In addition to that guy being a douche, a woman came in and tried to take my blood, pricked me 3 times in both arms, couldn’t find my veins, and I now have giant bruises on both arms from it. Another nurse had to come in and do it correctly. Also the first woman wrote the wrong date on my IV AND brought in some other person’s labels instead of mine, which the 2nd woman caught and was like I should have done this in the first place. That girl needs to pay attention. OMG these are things I don’t want to hear while in the ER! It seems to me that attention to detail should be high on the list of requirements to work in a hospital! Oh and I also had to give 2 urine samples, because they lost my first one.
Anyway, they ran a bunch of blood tests, and x-rays, and gave me a swab for the FLU and a pelvic exam and called poison control. They said I didn’t have the flu, and that my blood test came back fine. So that was good to hear. They said that poison control said I hadn’t taken a toxic amount of iodine, so that was good too. I will say one thing though I am never taking those f***ing pills again.
It turns out that my regular body temperature isn’t 98.6 but is 96. Which makes it even worse that I went up so damn high.
Anyway, so that was Sunday. Then yesterday I stayed home from work still with a fever that had gone down to 100.4. I couldn’t go to the of Montreal show last night b/c of still feeling so icky, so my ticket went to waste, and I was SO bummed and still am about that.
Now today I’m back at work, fever seems to have gone, but still feel pretty crappy.

Any idea what the hell happened? I had sent her Iodoral pills and she probably took no more than the dose on the pill bottle, or less as she was being very cautious. I feel terrible not only because this happened (the iodine seems to kick off her tendency for dehydration) but because I may have ruined any chance of her looking at alternative ways to make herself more healthy. :-(
