I had my mirena removed on Jan 14 of 2013. I was also prescribed birth control pills. I talked with my mom (who is a doctor), my doctor, nurses, and several friends about the same issue. What seemed to be a good plan from all around is to wait until after my first period starts. That way I know my body is capable of bouncing back and can re-regulate itself, so to speak. I still haven't had my period, but I've read some women say it can take up to a monhth.
