Time for a new car...Which should I ...

Ok, I'm looking for a good economy car that works well in the winter. The last car I had was terrible in the winter: frozen car doors, small battery dying out, expensive repairs etc. I am looking at these models. Which should I pick and why?
Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Toyota Corolla
VW Jetta
Honda Civic Coupe

This is a reply to # 1,502,987I loved my Focus..even in the winter because it heated up and defrosted so fast. Never had frozen doors or dead batteries. Well, loved it until I got into an accident driving 22mph (not in winter) and it would've cost $3,000 to fix the front end damage, replace the steering wheel since the air bag came out..etc. I like cars, not into the feel of driving something "high" like an SUV..but that experience made me wish I had an SUV instead. /Rant.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,502,987look for front wheel drive, handles much better on icy roads. VWs usually have front wheel drive, yes?

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,503,342I had to mention that I don't mind driving in icy weather. My problem with winter is frozen doors and key locks, dead batteries, won't start in the dead of cold, etc. The car I have takes a small international battery and it only works well in the summer. During winter time forget it, I have to have that thing jump started about 5 or 6 times and it is a new battery. I can't get a larger Sears diehard because it won't fit in my car.

This is a reply to # 1,503,373Nope, never had that problem with my Focus. drove at least 30,000 miles and I was still using the same battery.. and I drive around MA/CT/RI/ so lots of snow and cold and heat
being blasted.

This is a reply to # 1,503,373I dunno about battery size, I just know that front-wheel drive is superior as far as gripping icy roads. Four wheel drive is da best, where I live(mountains), but front wheel is a close second. Rear wheel? fuggedaboutit. Have to put chains on in bad weather, pain in the patootie...
We have an '89 cabriolet. handles great in the snow, will go just about anywhere...:
