Hello gcaracas,
your BP reading of 123/73 is close to what is referred to as the ideal: 120/80, however, an accurate reading can only be taken by several readings in the "resting state"...............say just on arising in the morning, and over several days at least. Your HR is well within the normal range and for most fasters will settle down to 60bpm as the "norm".
I don't think you have anything at all to be concerned about.
Lung tissue is especially susceptible to healing on a fast more than any other, and especially so when the back is exposed to sunlight: even after the damage caused by smoking.
The limits in the healing of the body are self-imposed by the body itself. An old German proverb states that "if something cannot be cured by fasting then it cannot be cured".
It is known that the healing of the lungs will take place after the cessation of smoking whether eating OR fasting, it is just that the "fasting state" will vastly accelerate it in diverting digestive energy for that purpose. Digestive energy is the most taxing and demanding on the body, so you have an extremely powerful ally working for you.
The healing of the lungs will continue post-fast and will continue at the accelerated rate if you live exclusively on a plant-based diet of fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and legumes.
Take care
Chrisb1.
