Hi All,
I am just wondering if it is possible to have an Hydroponic garden that produce high brix?
Thanks,

Hi Di,
That's what I had figured about the soil organisms and the fungi that work with the plants.
However, I was hoping there was a way to work with this in the water.
Thanks,

The reason I am interesting in hydroponics is because Jaques Fresco, has a solution to solve the world's problem of scarcity along with the Zeitgeist Movies. His project is called The Venus Project.
The reason for war, greed, power and corruption is due to the money system which provides scarcity of resources.
Jaques explains how all the work can be done by technology, removing all scarcity, so that everyone can have plenty of what they need.
He suggests hydroponics, but I think there is plenty of land to farm once the cities and living areas have been efficently designed.

You said:
Resources are always scarse. There is never enough of any given thing or commodity. If it is free, people will take more than they need. Others will deprived of the given commodity.
Price is a much more efficient means of allocating scarse resources than any central planning group has ever been. Price insures that those who can use a given resource to supply what people want will get it. People will only take what they need and leave some for others. I suggest that you read Thomal Sowell's book, Basic Economics.
Answer: scarcity is created by monetary gain.
There is no scarcity in reality.
We still have the same amount of water on the earth that we have always had. This is the same with any matter because matter just changes from one state to another. Reread your econ books and see if you find where the gov has destroyed tons of food in order to keep the prices higher.
If everyone had a garden with every fruit and vegetable they wanted and needed, no one would sell these types of fruits and vegetables. Why? because they are not scarce or made scarce.
The problems with this world are easy to fix with technology, but there is no money to be made by creating fixes--only creating problems.

Thanks for the brix reading!
I was curious as to what the brix is for an hydroponic plant.

Personally, I believe you and the others are right that hyrdroponics is not a good option for growing food.
However, I put the question out there to find out if anyone knew differently.
There is an organic grower, here, that makes his own soil using worms and coconut husks along with his other grown plants for composting. The name is Growing Power. He uses some hydroponics, so I thought there must be some use for it.

I too think real sunlight would make a difference.
Thanks for posting your brix reading for the wheatgrass!
