It should also be noted that most self-destructive behaviors stem from guilt. For example, emotional eating is often related to guilt. If this be the case, a diet is impossible without addressing the underlying emotion first.
Negative emotions always destroy the body, either through a primary or secondary action. If you can't love yourself, then you can't cure disease. You can only delay its eventual conclusion (death)
For many people, true joy will never be known. They are too caught up in the social games of power and success and failure. As long as one subscribes to the idea that one is a success or a failure, the body will always fail. There is no success, no good or bad, no better or worse. There is only existence, things happening in themselves. People separate the world around them into success or failure, good or evil, and this gets them into all kinds of trouble both physically and emotionally.
Some people may seem very enlightened, but it doesn't matter. It just takes the one thing, ONE THING, to cause disease. They can be the most pristine person on the planet, but they only need one judgment. And if they hold on to that judgment, and don't let it go, the lingering disease rises up like a colossus. And it whispers, cancer. It says, death. It speaks, disease. This is the nature of a fractured mind. You can't have a fractured mind and a whole body. It doesn't work that way. The mind and the body are as one. You can't have the left hand not know what the right hand is doing. You can't pretend to have love but feel hate. You can't do a good deed while secretly wanting to hold people back.
The universe is a complicated place. Not everyone who presents love actually feels it. Not everyone who seems smart actually is. Not everyone who holds power has strength (think about it). Not everyone who feels love expresses it. Not everyone who seems healthy, is healthy.
