I made a delicious salad with watermelon, mint leaves, feta cheese, olive oil and mirin vinegar (brown rice vinegar) dressing..on lettuce
Had done this once and it was delicious. The second time, I made it for my son, and he started to feel chilly quite quickly and wanting more salt, and protein.
We tested the watermelon and found it was 8. blech. Admittedly not super-sharp 8, but still. An excellent one is as much as 18 brix, i then read.
The thing is, it had better texture, colour and flavour than much of the stuff I see, but I am wondering if it's one of these new frankenfoods, that taste sweet and ripe, and are simply a problem for the average person.

No wonder so many people think "I can't eat fruit", and end up malnourished and hoodwinked...

PS I know the salad is an odd combo, but when it's good, it's great.
