I developed seb derm after a huge course of
Antibiotics , 3 types, intravenous. This wrecked my skin, it itched, was red (originally diagnosed with rosacea) and seemed allergic to anything i put on it..along came dandruff too for the first time. I was then diagnosed with seb derm. Of course i didn't want to take any more medication if poss so What I have done after much research, is a restrictive diet and supplements together with acv and it is hugely better. Dont know whether it will ever reverse completely but here's hoping. The easier fix was the dandruff, I cycle between nizoral, green people organic rosemary shampoo and h&s. when i wash my hair (i also lather it on to my face and leave for about 5 mins). Then, add half a cup of organic acv onto your hair and leave for 5 mins. This removes the dandruff for me, (pretty sure if I just did the vinegar it would work on its own). On my face, the itch was distressing and the star here is the supplement Quercetin, as soon as i started taking this the itch subsided. I started on 900mg and now i take 300mg daily. (I also take probiotics, zinc, vit c, grape seed extract and high dose epo). Other thing to try is pau d'arco tea which is meant to be v good for ridding the body of yeast, doesn't taste too bad either. For my face, i lather the shampoo on as i have described. also, about twice a week, after the morning cleanse i do a rinse with diluted acv, this definitely works. Another thing i will give the thumbs up to: Dermalogica's daily microfoliant, i tried this with trepidation but it contains colloidal oatmeal and other soothing ingredients, this leaves my skin very nice, using this about twice a week. Then the diet: remove yeast,
Sugar and fermented stuff at the very least but if you can handle it also wheat and dairy (except live yog which i have probably every other day with probiotic powder added in). Drink tons of water, no or minimal coffee and tea. I can now wear all my makeup again. The only symptom i get now is like is one small the itchy mini hive which looks like an insect bite, i have no idea what causes that i'm on the case! If anyone out there gets that - let me know. Hope some of this helps anyone out there. By the way, what's oil pulling?? ps i know the diets a bit miserable but for me a glass of wine and a pizza definitely weren't worth it!!
