I've been to all those places, LA, Boston, Rome - and many crazy places in Asia. In Bali there would be up to four lanes of traffic on a one lane road. You'd be speeding in a cab 70 mph and another car coming head-on in your same lane is also doing 70.
Split seconds before the collision your car veers off the pavement into the dirt to the left and the other does the same to the right. Funny thing was in 3 weeks I never noticed a single accident. And I still swear nobody compares to Maryland drivers.
As for the salt water rinse, I have to say even at home I don't bother rinsing with salt water. It's always just copius amounts of water until I don't taste the oil anymore. Maybe that's why I get some sensitivity on those rare weeks when I'm pulling every day.
