Hi: Read the ingredients in the product any stabilized oxygen product on the market has a ph above 8 the rest of the solution is a source of some electrolytes.
let's go on to ph and i will try to explain in common terms so all can relate.
Electrolytes are elements or compounds that when dissolved break into ions ( atoms capable of carrying an electrical charge).
So for the point of ph discussion we have to think of electricity and its ablity to carry these positive or negative mineral ions for body function.
Ph or potential hydrogen is a scale measurement to determine a solutions potential to pick up hydrogen ions. The scale is 0-14 0 being acid such as pure sulphuric acid and 14 being base such as calcium. Or acid- alkaline as most refer in the health field.
Ph and electricity the human body works on electrical currents just as any household appliance. The plug on your toaster is insulated so you don't get a shock; Think of this as calcium 14 on the ph scale it doesn't conduct electricity very well and protects you. Now think of an electrical storm you don't stand in water outside why it is a good conductor of electricity. This is 0 ph sulphuric acid.
So ph balance in the body is a balance of positive and negative ions.To balance body ph there may be a lack or excess of ions.
Kidneys are the major organs controlling ph but the thyroid, adrenals, lungs and lymphatic system also have an effect so we have to focus on all these and make sure they are provided the nutrients for repair and function daily.
When your average saliva and urine ph is 6.2 like yours Raymond there is too little resistance to electrical flow therefore not enough mineral elements assimilated due to increased speed of digestion caused by the higher current flow. The opposite can also be true if the ph's were 7.3 the digestion would be to slow and digestive enzymes too weak and the body would not be able to extract certain minerals of higher gravity or molecular weight.
We could go on but lets look at how to change ph: Calcium and potassium ion+ are the major minerals to shift ph up but Cal phos, cal lactate and cal sulphate move it down. Ca gluconate, carbonate, hydroxide, tri cal, bonemeal move up. But the body requires calcium from all these sources to function properly and it is the bodies storage capabilites that dictates ph balance.
That is why the 80% alkaline-20% acid diet has been suggested for years.Potassium also is anionic ion+ to help balance ph but as you know all other minerals are also required for health even the cationic ion-.
So we have to make sure all the nutrients to feed the above mentioned organs and systems are provided as well as fresh air and exercise for the lungs and lymph and a focus on providing more anionic foods and supplements in the diet. Also a positive attitude ;as this can produce more acids that have to be buffered.
Eg: People who overwork the thyroid make more acids and if they don't have the buffers stored it weakens causing malfunction.
A simple way to explain chemical reactions is to put a little vinegar in a glass add 1/4 tsp baking soda and watch what happens this is the same as your food reaching the hydrochloric acid in your stomach. There is an energy release between the food and the acid. This is part of digestion and the freeing of ions for the bodies use.
Hope you understand this brief explanation.
