"lexapro", to be precise. Subject has a long history of use...(11 years)
thoughts?
I know that some pharma meds cannot be just stopped, cold turkey...is this one of them?

ABSOLUTELY! (good thinking!) Lexapro is likely THE most insidious SNRI on the market. For almost everyone, getting off Lexapro is brutal. It is VERY important not to 'cold turkey' and also essential to strengthen the body before even starting to cut the dose....and the 'cuts' should be VERY small.
There is a FANTASTIC, very organized and well-respected 'nutriceutical' program for getting of psychotropic medicines (complete with a "pre-taper" period). It's called 'The Road Back' and you can find it here: http://theroadback.org/
In fact (I just checked) the 'homepage spotlight' is on Lexapro, listing both the adverse effects of usage and the withdrawal effects.
It is not cheap, but it IS effective. I've helped a couple of people of SSRIs/SNRIs, and I can put together a program for about half the monthly cost of this one - but honestly, I don't think it's quite as effective.
It's my opinion that the last thing anybody needs to be doing when coming off Lexapro is any strong detoxing. I also have very strong 'inner discernment' that coffee enemas may be very beneficial for the symptoms...but I've never been able to get anybody to try them to see :(

When I read lists of side effects and withdrawal effects like that it just makes me want to cry. Actually I vary between being very pissed and very sad... :(
How can the drug pushers that call themselves doctors sleep at night?
