Actually, the two doctors I've taken him to are pediatrics ENTs. He has never had strep/sore throats, nor ear infections (maybe two small ones). He will sometimes ask me when he is going to bed to give him some air and I'll turn the fan on. Before we started the allergy meds, I thought that he looked swollen up his nose and when I asked the doctor about it, he agreed and said we can try allergy meds first to see if that is the problem before taking out his tonsils/adenoids. After he tested positive for allergies, I have thought that is the problem, since he doesn't have problems with infections. I didn't mention that we use to live in a very moldy home and have been in this home for about one year.
I did request a soft tissue X-ray of his adenoids. Is that the same X-ray you are referring to? Or, is it a different one to show the polyps?
The allergist suggested a doctor at UVA that I am going to see and get another opinion. If he can't give me anymore information, I think I going to see if I can get the doctors to start with the adenoids.
I really appreciate your experience with this.
