It is my belief that we choose our life here on earth by what we want to learn. Each lifetime gives infinate choice. All are learning much from the souls that have chosen to take part in this war. No human, including George Bush or Saddam is all bad, nor all good. Each is playing his chosen part with the help of God/Supreme Conscious/Universe (or whatever term you use to describe the source of all knowing) as are we who are learning from this time of war.
This is a point of view that I have arrived at through much reading and thinking. All live to learn, all die for the same reason.
The lessons are as eternal as our souls. This is not a fatalistic point of view, we can always choose another direction, we are given free will. That being said, I do not believe that the divine would allow one man's free choice to perpetrate atrocity on so many. Since this war exists, it has been the choice of many souls who agreed to participate in it. I commend their souls for the learning and commit them to the divine for all comfort.
