Hello
I recently took an adrenal stim test and I am confused by the results. My doctor said that my cortisol is low, but my aldosterone is really high. He told me to drink water and
Sea Salt because the high aldesterone might indicate that I am on a low sodium diet. I tried this and I felt horrible-shaky and extremely bloated.
I took a bloodtest a few weeks prior to the stim test and my potassium and sodium levels were normal. At the same time, I do get dizzy upon standing, etc, and my bloodpressure is on the low side.
Why is my aldosterone so high when the rest of my adrenal seems to be low?
If I take cortef will my aldosterone lower? I do tend to get a puffy face and I wonder if this is why?
I also recently learned I have hoshimoto's thyroiditis and I am on armour for my thyroid, for whatever that is worth.
Thanks
