Hi Jackie, you can get it here or on ebay. I have the 2nd edition though, I found that on the first link.
FREE PREVIEW HERE and it's pretty good
Um, I just noticed that the second half of the 8 minute video they talk about at Ravediet is on Youtube. Here is a direct link. WARNING: Disturbing Content. Don't click on the link unless you understand the content, see in red below. I have not watched it all, I am pretty sure that I have already decided to give up meat so I don't need to. You can buy the full video (16 mins) from here. They also sell the full video Eating 3rd Edition video here , though it costs less on the links at the top.
8 Minutes is a short, but extremely powerful production which everyone needs to see. The total length of the film is just 16 minutes. The first eight minutes describe how surprisingly intelligent, warm and caring animals are. The second eight minutes shows how some of these same animals end up on our plates - when the film visits a slaughterhouse.
The film is an attempt to bridge the big disconnect between what's on the dinner plate and how it got there. Although 8 Minutes is graphic and violent, everyone should watch it, particularly those with a meat-eating habit. We would also recommend it be shown to children, with parent supervision. Although we would suggest it be shown to children 10 or older, the parent is the best judge to determine at what age this should be seen.
Here are a few comments we have received from viewers:
Profound...Poignant...A challenge to watch.
A beautiful presentation of a difficult subject matter.
The juxtaposition of video is brilliant - and damning.
A bright spotlight on the dark side of our eating habits.
Everyone in the world needs to spend just a few minutes of their life to see this.
The haunting images will never leave me
Nice one waterbug. This is completely in agreement with the Eating video I watched last night while exercising, and some of the faces in the video are familiar. And I'll bet you www.processedpeople.com recommends a plant based diet.
By the way, the exercise made me feel great. Here's the second trailer I got from that site. All good stuff.
May as well post this here as it is on the same "processed" theme, so some may like it. Though not related to food, the video was coincidentally released just before the current financial crash, and is totally relevant to the situation we are all in today. (edit) WARNING 2 hour video. For further info, transcripts, original movie etc see website http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ (all problems are now fixed and correct movie appears below - I hope!)
