Hello sirkdosolay,
Donn & Waterbug are quite right in their reply to your post.
The sources as to why you should or should not use an enema while fasting hasn't come from the most experienced fasting supervisors........they discontinued their use as being enervating and without benefit. The only enema I would recommend is the
coffee enema in the Gerson Anti-cancer protocol.
Scroll down to.....THE ENEMA DURING THE FAST & FORCING MEASURES........to find out more.

The bowels for the most part usually (although not always) shut down on a water-only -according-to-thirst-fast, and resume normal function within a short time frame once the fast is broken; however, if the the enema is employed during the fast then BM's are usually restricted post-fast and can take much longer to resume normal function.
The fear that if the bowels are not forced to move during a fast will encourage auto-intoxication is unfounded, and is not the experience of most fasting supervisors or my own either. Dr Charles Page MD stated that "the bowels will take care of themselves" whilst fasting as did many Hygienic Doctors.
Donn is quite right: this is not the
Master Cleanse Forum , and where there is no benefit from the saline purge during the fast, but may be safely used and employed pre-fast if you think that is appropriate in your case.
