This is a reply to # 1,336,674Looks like liver flukes to me. I passed the almost the same thing, and lots of them, on MH's dewormer within the first 2 days. Only mine were much redder, but the texture/shape was almost the same. These ones almost look dehydrated, were they exposed to air for a while before the pic was taken?
May I ask how you got rid of them?

A few questions for you:
1- What's MH's dewormer?
2- How do you know what you had were liver flukes? How can you differentiate between liver flukes and other kinds of flukes?
3- Did you feel sick from your infection? Did you feel better after treatment?
I've been sick for a while. Recently started paying a lot closer attention to the contents of my BM's. I took 3 days of mebendazole standard dose a couple of days before these came out (yesterday). There were more of them today. They're not tiny but they're not so huge that it's easy to spot them. Requires me getting much closer to my feces than I would like to.
I followed the mebendazole with metronidazole and cipro - standard doses, 10 day course. I also had entamoeba histolytica when I got back from India this summer so that's what the metronidazole is for, just in case it's still there.
My understanding is that flukes take a different med than anything I have taken. Something called praziquantel (biltricide).
These may have been coming out before the mebendazole, I don't know.

I've tried many many parasite programs and this was the one that gave me results within the first few days. I passed LOADS of what I believe were liver flukes. They looked like yours but much redder, "plumper", and intact. They had the exact same texture as yours.

I don't KNOW for certain that they are flukes. I'm just going from what I've seen from other people. Surprisingly I didn't feel a whole lot different once I passed them. In fact, I felt a lot more tired and run down. I passed them in November. Slowly in the last couple months, my digestion has returned to 95% normal and my energy has been coming back too. SO I'm guessing that it's the damage that the flukes do to your insides that cause the malaise, not the flukes themselves. In any case, I've been getting better and better each week.
I'm able to eat whatever I want again. I should mention that the dewormer was accompanied by Liver Flushing every 2 weeks. All of this information can be found in detail at Dr. Sutter's forum. I also threw in a Coconut Oil detox the day I started the dewormer. It takes about 2-3 days or more if you've got a iron will. I once took the metronidazole to try and get rid of whatever was ailing me. It only seemed to make me worse though. I felt SO sick on that drug.
Funny, I first got sick in Southeast Asia, but that also included a trip to India too!
What are all your symptoms? I wouldn't be surprised if they're akin to what mine were.

Too hard to tell unless strong light is projected though it. If it were a living thing like platyhelminth [fluke] it would have organs.
But, I will confess, I had found a parasite with only cells [confirmed through microscopy] and no discernible organs. It was very small[2mm in length] and looked like the one in the picture including texture. So, since I have never heard of any animal in nature without organs I am at a loss to give you an answer.
There are also things in stool that can mislead you to false identification like the partially digested capsules from supplements etc. Shroom- Re: Can anyone ID these? #101705

This is a reply to # 1,336,864Hmm, I have only ever been able to identify one parasite by the presence of organs (not that I've tried that many times). I spotted something that looked kind of like a bean so I fished it out and used tweezers to open it up. I was thoroughly grossed out when I discovered that it was most definitely not a bean because it had organs.
However, I thought that most parasites were at least partially disintegrated by the time the left the body. If that's the case, couldn't some of these fragments simply be the outer skins of the parasites? If so, most of them wouldn't necessarily have organs would they?-

It could be possible the organs were consumed by bacteria, but there still should be evidence of internal structures. I have a real fluke picture I got out of me, and will post it here:
Notice it has branching and stuff? This is typical intestinal type fluke. It was very small maybe 15 mm long if I remember. It was likely F. hepatica.
Sort of whitish-grey and leathery.
The flukes most people see, are more likely something pick-up from stuff we eat, and are not well suited for human infection. This is speculation. The common fluke of man which is large enough to fit most peoples description would have to be F. Buski which can grow large enough to be easily identified. They look like a living creature, and would gross you out to see one.
There are many, many parasites still to be officially recorded that infect humans IMO.

i have preserved some specimens in isopropyl alcohol. i hope to get some in formalin as well next week.
i plan on mounting these and taking a look under the scope. i may be able to access a path lab too in which case i may be able to do some slicing.
question for you: any idea on what kind of stain would be best for this?

This is a reply to # 1,337,222Hi Slimo. You have access to pathology lab? They should have everything you need in there for sure. I would just use some standard stains. Saturate with one stain, rinse, and counter stain with different color. The specimen is large enough to be well characterized. Shroom
