Hey there Saiuki,
There are so many reasons, but I will highlight a few. I have fibroids, and another issue more personal and emotional, and I found that the 12 day fast HELPED those issues. So with your kidney's, yes, it can help. I definitely journal, I don't blogg, and probably should. But I am a writer/director/filmmaker, and I work as a researcher on a show for Discovery, so it's a time thing...lol
I am fasting for 3 reasons, one of which directly matches you, and that is.
1)I have been in an unhappy marriage for 17 years, I have 2 teens, and a 9 year old. I am considered pretty nice looking, but have really taken a backseat to alot, and for the last 2 years I have taken control, accomplished alot, and my personal life and eating are the only 2 which have eluded me. The new year and new energy is prompting a need to make changes in my life that are more permanent.
2) I have an emotional/food addiction, and I believe fasting is one the the best ways to retrain your body. I think a complete fast is what I need for this. But I think that fasting on a regular basis, helps stabilize someone like me so prone to falling off the wagon. It helps regulate.
3) I've only gotten to 12 days, and I want to challenge myself to fast to completion for the first time.
Even with that though. Fasting is a day to day thing. I know I want to exceed 12 days, but you gave to take each day at a time. It's not easy.
But we are all here for each other, and trust me, it is worth every day of clarity that you do it.
So onward we go, and I am looking for your posts to tell me which day you are on..lol
Much support and love.
Lisa
