High on Water
There are nursing videos at youtube! You might want to start there. I would say if hubby's willing, I would say no more than ten minutes at a time. Well, no more than a minute the first time...I do recall when I BEGAN getting SORE. And then you can't quit - but you're in a "position" (heh heh) to work up slowly.
geez - nipple talk - there, I said it. Wommie should be proud of me!
I remember the wife of a chiropractor I had when I lived in Ohio. God bless her. She's the one that told me about the "six-week mark" when the baby goes through the first major growth spurt. The baby will cry and cry and cry because she needs more milk and you ain't got enough.
Well, all that crying, and suckling, constantly for a 24-48 hour period of time actually stimulates the ducts to make more milk. But as far as draining them...I seem to recall anywhere from 10-20 minutes of nursing - depending on how hard she suckled...and how "starving" she was! Work up to it - don't allow yourself to get sore (arrrrrgh) nipples.
