While it's a fact that adjustments associated with being married and having children do cause stress and make people less patient, there is a marked impatience, extreme anger, and inappropriate verbal inhibition that I have now been able to link with the Mirena. Unfortunately for my family, it wasn't until the medical conditions started piling up that I was able to put 2 and 2 together.
I've had mine out for 3 days and while I'm still having the migraine-like headaches, they are not as long-lasting and severe as they were before and my mood has improved and somewhat stablized. I have bled on and off since removal, but never thought I'd be so happy to be inconvenienced.(I too enjoyed not having a period for over 2 years, but the trade-off is absolutely not worth it!)
It is my strong belief that considering the number of women on this forum alone sharing anger/mood swing experiences, that there is DEFINITELY a link between this life-altering behavior and the Mirena. Both my kids pleaded with me to get "anger-management" help prior to me finding this forum and figuring out the reason. For me it gradually got worse and my poor family either tried to to tiptoe around my mood or combat it (very bad days!) A more recent post inferred that the Mirena may have caused someone to put her fist through the wall the same day it was inserted. It does seem to affect women to different, varying degrees, but I believe the risks are much higher than stated or even truly understood.
PLEASE consider having it removed ASAP!!!!!!
