Hi
I have had insomnia for about 16 years and the path to a good nights sleep has been a very gradual one. In that time I’ve made some significant ground in restoring my health, via
Liver Flushes (five so far), detox programmes, pro-biotics, magnesium, and lately olive leaf extract (good stuff). My diet is relatively strict in that I avoid yeast, dairy and sugary stuff.
Still whilst a marked improvement in my health has occurred, I still wake after 3-4 hours, usually toilet prompted and still spend time awake during the night.
Characteristics of my current state are exemplified by the following:
§ Very sensitive to caffeine – 1 x 4.30pm coffee equals hyper night,
§ Sensitive to food
additives – eg. Sausage & hamburger meat additives,
§ Inability to wind down after active physical activity eg. Sport at night, resulting in no sleep, with my heart pumping throughout the night, while the physical recovery takes a while also, i.e. muscular aches etc.
§ Sometimes, although infrequently, irregular & palpitating heart in bed at night, mostly after having consumed caffeine or food additive.
§ Even though I’m improved, a feature is that I’m very temperature sensitive.
§ The urge to pee during the night is consistent. Some nights (like last night) I went 3 times. I have been on Olive leaf extract for about 2 months and have experienced increased restfulness and energy, yet I have noticed that during the same time the pee urge has become magnified.
These factors have led me to think that there may be an adrenal problem to address.
What do other folks think?
