I am going to start my fast at 6:00 pm (UK time) which is a few minutes from now. I have never made it past day 4 because I get bad leg pain (which I talk about a lot on this forum). I can handle the pain but it gets so bad by day 3 that I actually can’t physically move because it feels like my muscles and tendons don’t stretch. For example … if I stand up and touch my chin to my chest it pulls all the muscles and tendons in my legs and it is quite excrutiating. When it gets to that point I stop immediately and it takes me a week to recover.
Anyway, as an experiment I am adding to my distilled water - chelated calcium, chelated magnesium and potassium (in the form of low-salt) in case it is an electrolyte problem. So I guess this is an experiment. I think it was Chiron that said potassium, calcium and magnesium would be leached from my muscles and bones to alkalize the blood to neutralize the acidity that results from burning fat. This makes sense. I think Bling also mentioned the magnesium/calcium thing so I have purchased Epsom Salts
for the bath.
People here will probably criticize me for saying that I am not fasting and that in actual fact what I am doing is a reduction diet …. But I disagree. I am drinking distilled water only from my own distiller and there are people here who drink tap water while fasting which is far more sinister than adding a small amount of chelated minerals to my drinking water. It is not as if I am drinking herbal tea or gatorade or chemicals or anything.
So this is what happens. At 24 hours I get a headache. At 36 hours I start throwing up bile (this continues for 2 or 3 days). At 36 hours I also start to get leg pain. This is also when my ph strips show high acid levels. At day 3 my ketones sticks turn dark purple and this is usually when my muscles stop functioning correctly.
Wish me luck. I already know that I am going to get the leg and hip pain but if I can avoid the part where the muscles stop functioning then that will be a huge success for me because it has prevented me from going past the 4 day mark for the past 15 years. I really need to resolve this problem.
I have done so much searching and cannot find anyone with this problem that I have. This will be an interesting experiment for me. I want to do a 10-day fast one day. I am just finishing off a Bacardi and coke before my torment begins. Wish me luck!
