Hello Latinmess,
I couldn't agree with your post more.
By far the most experienced & numerous fasting supervisors dating from the mid 1800's within the United States of America, and where Natural Hygiene began with Isaac Jennings MD & Sylvester Graham, all independently agreed that "forcing measures" were of no benefit to the body, but were decidedly pernicious and enervating to the sick and the diseased; how much MORE benefit then can be had by avoiding these measures while in a relatively healthy state, and where a persons life-energy can only be further enhanced and not wasted by their avoidance.
We should also bear in mind that life IS energy (I shall repeat that)= LIFE IS ENERGY and where without it we become sickly and enervated and toxemic. Every measure in life that conserves our life-energies will lead to a more fulfilling existence and even greater, healthier and active longevity.
I have long been an opponent of any "forcing measure" such as enemas and
colonics but especially the Salt-Water-Flush, whereby its success in cleaning out the entire digestive tract is a result of the body acting upon the foreign invader by trying to expel the "solution" as soon as possible, causing diarrhea and hefty bowel movements; this artificial stimulation requires much bodily energy in expelling the Salt Water and is therefore wasteful of lifes precious energies.
All Natural Hygienists except some, such as J Tilden MD. were against the idea of any forcing measure unless absolutely necessary for these reasons.
A policy of Laissez-Faire or what
Shelton referred to as the (let it alone plan) is all that Nature needs to accomplish the greatest amount of cleansing and healing and where any forcing measure is denied to animals in the wild as Nature understands this to be superfluous.
THE ENEMA DURING THE FAST.
THE GASTRIC LAVAGE DURING THE FAST.
FORCING MEASURES.
