Now is as good a time as any to quit because you are removing most of the nicotine residue from your body by fasting. I don't have to tell you that by continuing, you are putting it back on top of what will not be cleaned out from fasting.
When I did smoke 30 to 35 years ago I had a hell of a time quiting. I tried cutting back, but it finally dawned on me that every time I had that one cigarette, I was starting all over again, so I finally gave them up. I'm not going to tell you that it was easy, because it wasn't at first until I got the hang of how to make it easier.
It's not replacing the cigarettes with gum, and other food. That will just cause you to gain weight. What you have to replace the smoke with is fresh air, and you need to be able to talk to yourself. Every time you want a smoke, go outside and take 3 or more deep breaths of fresh air while telling yourself that the feeling you have to want to smoke is your dues for being so stupid to start in the first place. Tell yourself that you are suffering now for starting, and that you will not smoke another cigarette even if it kills you. Tell yourself that it is you that makes the decisions, not some addiction, and are willing to die before you smoke again. You get the idea, be hard on yourself, and lay the blame on the misery you're having at the moment on your stupidity, and vow to die before you let the addiction tell you what to do. Get pissed off at the idea that there is something that is ruling your life, and screwing up your health.
That last sentence is what did it for me. The fact that I wasn't in control over my own body really pissed me off, and motivated me. In addition, go for walks to get more fresh air during the times of the urge. Certain foods seemed to be good with cigarettes, like coffee. Get up from the dinner table and go out side instead of sitting around talking which is when a cigarette is good. Just do anything that will break the routine you had prior to wanting a cigarette.
It has been said that anything you do for 21 days becomes a habit. Put that 21 days out there like a carrot on a string.
EFT would be good, as well as self hypnosis. You are going to be in a battle, so use everything you can think of, and then some.
I know you can do it, and I'm pulling for you.
