I've done a bit of reading on Iodine vs iodide... The skin likes iodide. I added some ascorbic acid to my Lugol's-laced creme of Wombat, thus reducing the iodine to iodide.. What I am wondering is whether this will affect the way it's absorbed.. I've been doing really well with it and don't want to minimize its effect. But I have a friend who has skin cancer, for whom the orange tinge would be a problem. So, Trapper, do you think it's as effective to use it topically like this, in the reduced form? (I've reduced some Lugol's - neat- with ascorbic acid and put it in a small roll-on bottle for my friend to paint the lesions with)
Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.
The fact that the cream is now white is good because it doesn't stain everything like before... And I can use more of it!
One more thing I've noticed about my skin: I've got fairer. My skin, all over my body, has lightened. (I use coconut, Brazil nut, cocoa butter and Lugol's, now with Vitamin C!! after cleansing with ACV or honey vinegar).
