Sorry, I forgot to mention dairy. Pasturized dairy kills all the good things in milk that do make us healthier. Milk production has more to do with milk quotas than it does with any health measures. Even Louis Pasteur came to recognize that it is not the germs in the milk, it is the state of the body drinking it -- our own biological terrain must be strong in order for our body to function properly. Seek out raw dairy -- it is yummy --
http://www.realmilk.com should help you with finding farms or outlets.
http://www.organicpastures.com in California have quite the operation and will ship.
Currently, I travel a considerable distance into the U.S. to get this milk, but soon, hopefully, I will have a couple of shares in a cow which will be much closer to me. It is illegal to sell raw milk in Canada at this time, but not in about 26 states, I believe.
Although The Primal Diet advocates all raw (including meat), you could certainly take advantage of his raw-dairy recipes -- we take a morning smoothie which has raw eggs (free range), raw milk and raw cream, banana, nutmeg and unheated honey. Heating honey in the processing kills off the really good things in it. If you go to
http://www.wewant2live.com, you will be able to read the first five chapters of the book We Want To Live which describes the gentleman's own road back to health, as well as his saving of his son's life after a terrible car crash -- the docs thought that he would die and when he did not, they wrote him off, figuring that he would be a vegetable -- not so. This gentleman also advocates a LOT of raw fats -- raw cream, raw butter, coconut cream, etc. One woman actually lost 140 lbs in five months by including up to one gallon of raw ice cream (with fruit in it) per day! Now, there's a diet!! He contends that the raw fats really do great things for us.
Have fun reading!
Kindest thoughts.
